The position

The Head of Environmental, Health, and Safety directs the development, planning, organization, and execution of strategies to maintain safety, health, and environmental compliance for site-wide operations. This position plays a key role in aligning corporate and local policies and procedures while effectively managing a team of professionals.

Tasks & responsibilities

• This person provides strategic leadership to ensure strategic site and corporate initiatives are properly translated, developed, and deployed at the site level to achieve exceptional best-in-class results.
• This role will direct all components of the site EH&S organization, establish, and communicate strategic and business objectives for the department ensuring key EH&S metrics, requirements and infrastructure are incorporated into the site.
• This person will ensure a cohesive and aligned site operation, the scope of responsibilities identified for this position impacts all departments at the site including Manufacturing Operations, Engineering Operations, Strategy and Business Operations, EHS, Quality Operations and Functional Site Partners.

Candidate profile

• Bachelor's Degree required, HVK or MS preferred
• Minimum 10 years of EH&S experience with complex safety and environmental management responsibilities to include experience leading a team
• Extensive knowledge of EPA, IATA, EED and other EU/local environmental, health, and safety regulations such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, ML-II.
• Advanced knowledge of strategic planning, budgeting, contract management, continuous improvement, and training.
• Ability to lead, train, coach and manage a highly functioning, diverse, and effective team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to think creatively, critically, and strategically, and to solve problems in a complex environment with urgency and agility
