HSEQ Manager

Our client is a chemical manufacturing facility and delivers a broad range of products and solutions to customers in every corner of the globe, serving key industries such as transportation, infrastructure, environment and consumer. The company employs approximately 4.500 people globally.

To reach these goals we are recruiting for a HSEQ Manager based in Rotterdam.

Tasks & responsibilities

The HSEQ Manager is accountable for all matters relating to health, safety and welfare of employees and those affected by the company operations. We believe that a strong safety culture contributes to the overall success of our business. 

Leading the HSEQ department means being part of leadership team and represent all interests of the people in the company and the immediate environment.

Responsibilities:

• Translating vision and policy into operational implementation and concrete objectives and actions for the team;
• Prepare, implement and monitor realization of the HSEQ policy in alignment with the company's standards and government regulations;
• Responsible for continuous improvement of our HSEQ management systems such as Responsible care, ISO9001 and ISO1400;
• Lead HSEQ department and the team consisting of laboratory, safety and environmental experts;
• Acting as sparring partner for the Managing Director and fellow Leadership Team members;
• Maintain contact with parent organization, sister production sites, branch organizations and government, building trustful relationships and partnerships;
• Ensure up-to-date information and knowledge sharing with regard to developments in the field, changes to legislation and regulations as well as adjustments to the quality systems;
• Monitor legal requirements, permit requirements, emissions levels, and take measures if and when necessary.

Candidate profile

• Bachelor's/Master's degree Chemical Engineering or similar, preferably supplemented with an HVK diploma;
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role, in a manufacturing company in the chemical industry;
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations;
• Fluent Dutch and English language;
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
