In this newly created role of Manager Engineering, you will be at the helm of the engineering activities, from proposal engineering support for sales opportunities to ensuring the timely delivery of all engineering deliverables. You'll lead and inspire the project, product, and package engineering teams (60 FTE), driving performance, and development to achieve Howdens business goals. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of engineering within the organization and beyond.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Establish unified engineering processes and structures to optimize performance.
• Develop strong connections with global engineering teams to enhance scalability and flexibility.
• Formulate a long-term strategy for the engineering function aligned with business goals.
• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team through coaching and talent management.
• Cultivate a Zero Defects culture to ensure quality deliverables and reduce costs.
• Drive 100% On-Time Delivery of engineering milestones, adapting to demand fluctuations.

Candidate profile

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Proven leadership experience in performance and talent development
• Strong change management abilities and proficiency in process improvement
• Excellent communication skills and ability to foster a motivating culture
• Full proficiency in English to navigate in international business environments
• Preferably experienced in EPC contracts and Engineered-to-Order projects
• Preferably experienced in Configure-to-Order processes, product/solution standardization and experience in manufacturing engineering/DfX processes
• Proactive mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction and team collaboration
