With a focus on data, applications, cloud computing, and business intelligence, the tech community is at the forefront of creating a smarter, more agile digital world.

With offices in the Netherlands, Finland, Denmark, Germany and the Middle East, and a workforce of thirteen hundred employees, The Digital Neighborhood – since 2020 owned by private equity investor EMK Capital – is poised for rapid growth through strategic acquisitions. As M&A is at the heart of the company’s growth strategy, the Manager of PMI & Strategy Execution will be given both substantial support and a broad mandate for their initiatives. The inorganic growth agenda is a pivotal part of the group’s strategy. This role is central to creating a pan-European Microsoft Cloud Services provider through executing the M&A and PMI initiatives.

The position

The Digital Neighborhood is a rapidly expanding European tech company. Currently, the organization comprises twelve distinct Cloud Technology companies – and counting – as part of its aggressive buy-and-build strategy, acquiring on average four companies per year. The Manager of PMI & Strategy Execution oversees the successful onboarding, integration, and value creation efforts aimed at capturing all post-deal value.

Tasks & responsibilities

Recent years have witnessed an increasing focus on businesses in Germany and the Nordics within the organization’s M&A strategy. Every deal is accompanied by a comprehensive integration and value creation agenda, led by the Manager of PMI & Strategy Execution. The manager steps in during the due diligence process and drives the entire onboarding and integration program post-closing, ensuring tasks are completed, progress is closely monitored, and the roadmap is adjusted as needed. They clearly identify potential synergies, outline the expected benefits, create implementation plans, and execute them effectively. To ensure successful execution, the Manager of PMI & Strategy Execution works closely with business teams, ensuring that cross-sell opportunities and other synergies are implemented. There are still many opportunities to capitalize on in PMI within The Digital Neighborhood. The Manager of PMI & Strategy Execution is given the autonomy and trust to develop the value creation plan from scratch, collaborating closely with Harman Korte, Director of Strategy and M&A. Especially since it’s a new role within the organization, the Manager can largely shape the role themselves.

Stakeholder management
Aside from a strategic mindset and hands-on approach, strong stakeholder management skills are vital. With CEOs of acquired companies, the Manager of PMI & Strategy Execution is a sensitive and knowledgeable partner who easily gains trust and drives action. They engage with numerous senior stakeholders across the group, each with different personalities. The Manager of PMI & Strategy Execution understands this context and keeps the right people involved and engaged. When needed, they can offer pushback while maintaining a respectful and collaborative relationship.

The Manager of PMI & Strategy Execution will be part of the M&A team (6 fte) led by Director of Strategy and M&A, Harman Korte, and work closely with practice leads and (new) CEOs. With the Manager of PMI & Strategy Execution fully dedicated to PMI, Harman can further focus on M&A, expected to drive an increase in the number of deals in the coming years. Given the emphasis on international acquisitions, the Manager of PMI & Strategy Execution will travel regularly within Europe.

Candidate profile*

The ideal candidate is both independent and proactive, capable of working with entrepreneurs with minimal supervision and achieving results through a collaborative approach. A structured way of working is crucial, given the cross-functional and cross-team nature of these programs, ensuring effective planning, steering, and follow-up. Strong analytical skills are necessary to understand what drives value in a buy and build environment, ensuring that onboarding and integration efforts focus on what matters most.

Requirements*

• Over 8 years of experience
• In consulting
• As well as experience in a corporate or entrepreneurial environment
• Experience with post-merger integration and/or a buy-and-build setting
• Project management skills
• Stakeholder management skills
• Hands-on mentality
