Technology

The position

Overview
ASM Thermal Products business unit consists of three Key Product Units (KPU):

• Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD);
• Epitaxy (EPI);
• Chemical Vapor Deposition/Diffusion (CVD).

The CVD KPU is located in the Netherlands (Almere) and Belgium (Leuven). Chemical Vapor Deposition is a thermal process that deposits various films at low pressure.
Diffusion (sometimes referred to as annealing) is a thermal treatment used to move dopants, or impurities, and make dopants introduced by ion implantation electrically active. ASM’s Advance® Series Vertical. Furnaces provide a wide range of high- productivity batch processing solutions for Diffusion, Oxidation, Anneal, Cure and CVD.

They are looking for a manager who can lead, coach and manage a team of engineers and plans, directs and co-ordinates the design to value engineering activities of the assigned projects satisfying internal and external customer requirements.

A manager who understands the efficient use of engineering resources to meet and/or improve the established budget and interfaces with other functions to assist in the on time completion of the engineering activities.

The Manager Platform Engineering performs the product engineering activities in such a way that optimum cost effectiveness is obtained between quality, design, and manufacturing, while ensuring that ASM engineering design standards are adhered to.

He or she provides management with accurate and informative reports, evaluating the results of project assignments along with appropriate recommended course of action. He or she organizes or participates in design review meetings, internally & externally when required. The Manager Platform Engineering is one of the drivers of the quality culture (first time complete and right).

Candidate profile

Education
Master in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. A working knowledge of semiconductor device physics is strongly preferred.
Professional Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant experience (9 to 12 years) within related industry including knowledge of industry practices and standards;
• Experienced in managing large and complex engineering departments and matrix organizations;
• 3D CAD, PLM/PLC, knowledge on designing and drafting;
• Project management experience;
• Excellent command of English and Dutch language.
