The position

This role is a unique opportunity to take great responsibilities in a leading actor in the circular economy in Europe. The Managing Director will be responsible and accountable for the management of the country's activities and the strong growth plan and industrialisation of the entity.

Tasks & responsibilities

We are looking for someone to make the business grow in size and margin, together with the team. In this role, you are accountable for the commercial development, operations, budget and delivering the business plan agreed with Group Management. This position is an excellent opportunity for a leader who can work in a fast-growing, fast-paced environment and increase his/her responsibilities as the company grows, including the option of taking responsibilities at European level.

The person will report directly to Group CEO and COO and has strong delegation of authorities to implement agreed strategy & run the business.

• Manages and is accountable for the country activities: operational, commercial, financial, and human resources
• Develops a commercial and industrial vision for the entity: Knowledge of the products, production capabilities and vision of the market and related developments, establishes long-term partnership with strategic feedstock providers & clients
• Motivates entity employees and make them thrive
• Set up and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for all members of the organisation
• Actively contributes to the strategy and direction of the company
• Leads large, complex, and organisation-wide projects
• Brings value to the group management committee

Candidate profile

• Master's degree in Business
• Minimum 15 years relevant experience, in one of these industries: plastic recycling, compounding, waste management, plastics manufacturing (plastics films) or chemicals
• Experience in a similar position or direct report of a similar position, within an (international) controlled environment
• Natural leader with a positive attitude who stands for a pleasant working atmosphere and results
• Business oriented, decisive with an entrepreneurial mentality
• Able to work strategically, but with a hands-on approach
• Excellent communication skills, at all levels
• Analytically strong
• Excellent knowledge of the English, Dutch & German language
• Strong affinity for sustainability
