Managing Director

The organisation

For our client we are looking for a Managing Director Germany – Façade Industry.

Our client is a well know specialist Façade Company established in 1964 in Germany. The Group has carried out many prestigious and award winning projects across the world, focusing on high performance façade constructions. You are based in a nice, countrified area in southern Germany. 

The position

• You are fully responsible for a standalone operation, which serves primarily the European market and lead a team of 120 employees
• Lead, guide and evaluate a team of managers with operational responsibilities
• Ensure that the organisation achieves its business and strategic objectives in accordance with all relevant regulations and legislations
• The Position will report directly to the Group MD and Chairman
• Develop and implement regional strategy
• You take responsibility of all financial and physical resources
• Ensure that all day-to-day operations are fit for purpose and achieve operational and strategic objectives. Monitor and evaluate all operational performances
• Improve and maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the operation
• Increase employee engagement with specific focus on training and development
• Ensure that KPI´s like sales targets and operational profits are achieved and that departmental budgets are not exceeded
• You will closely work with the Group MD, the Finance Director, relevant Senior Managers and with members of the Board
• Externally you will build up close relations with Clients, Business Partners and Suppliers

Candidate profile

• Relevant technical Bachelor Degree
• At least 10 years senior management experience, preferably within the façade industry
• Highly experienced in façade construction – ie: architecture, structural engineering building physics and design
• Strong project management Experience
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing principles
• Experience of working across multiple intercompany departments – especially operation and finance and you will have a proven budgetary control experience
• You are a customer focused result orientated Manager, able to take over responsibility
• We are looking for a Team player with problem solving and analytical abilities
• You are a flexible, hands-on and a good communicator with strong leadership abilities
• Excellent in spoken and written English
• Willingness to travel
