Our client is a leading global building materials group employing over 87,000 people at around 3,800 locations worldwide. Following the set-up of a new structure in one of the businesses within the global group, a new Managing Director Netherlands will be installed. This particular business consists of three companies with a total turnover of € 160 mio, divided over six locations; the HQ is located in Central Netherlands.
The position
In this role, you are expected to:
- Drive sustainable business performance via organic growth and operational excellence through collaboration and integration within the business and division and across the group
- Manage the operations of the business and give strategic guidance and direction to the management board to ensure that the companies mission and (financial) objectives are met
- Take responsibility for defining and executing company strategy
- Take ownership for talent management and development; building strong leadership pipeline
- Keep business and operations on Peak Performance
- Design, develop and implement the organization needed for sustainable success
- Secure integration and optimization of acquired business
- Secure succession of key positions by development of organization and talent
- Demonstrate "best in class practices" by advanced KPI dashboard within the business and division
Tasks & responsibilities
- Remain excellent business performance by continuously improving the business
- Drive cultural change based on sustainable and continuous improvement of the business and employer of choice for talents
- Drive growth
- Organic growth by targeted customer oriented actions and leveraging the network
- Build the right organization for realizing continuous improvements
- Follow up on “value creation” through integration and synergies
- Delivers on process and system for Talent Management
- Agile and flexible, pragmatic and being able to react quickly to a changing environment
- Keeps the business in the Netherlands at its leading position
Candidate profile
- Minimal 10-15 years of experience with significant experience in general management managing P&L
- Strong business knowledge & analytics
- Solid leadership experience
- Proven track record on integration of companies
- Strong relationship management
- International exposure
- Multi-cultural experience
- Preferable background in construction environments
- Language skills: Dutch & English
- Master’s degree or equivalent
