Currently the company is in a transition phase. In the new organization, operations are aligned regionally to maximize CM’s oversight and support for best practice sharing and plant engagement over the global manufacturing footprint. In this way, CM is positioned optimally for significant value creation and world class Operational Excellence. In order to support this ambition, the organization will be strengthened by introducing a new position, an Operations Director Europe.
The position
The Operations Director Europe (ODE) leads site Plant Managers and Operations Team members for the 4 sites in Wales, Sweden, Hungary, and Spain, managing the creation and implementation of operational strategies (Safety, Quality, Production, Logistics, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering) aligned to the company’s strategy for multiple sites.
The ODE drives continuous improvement processes by utilizing World Class / Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve productivity while reducing costs in manufacturing / assembly areas. He/She coaches, leads and develops site operations leader(s) and their staffs to identify, understand and implement lean manufacturing best practices to achieve World Class levels of performance.
He/She identifies and realizes cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities, as well as advanced process improvements, for both fixed and variable costs. Effective decision-making, maintaining and nurturing effective working relationships, and developing world-class operational standards, are key in this position.
Candidate profile
We are searching for a performance-driven operations leader who has a ‘can do’ mentality, and endurance for the longer term.
You have a completed Master’s Degree, with an emphasis on Operations, Business Management or Engineering. You have a minimum of 8 years of proven success in managing plant operations in a world-class manufacturing organization. You have a proven track record in managing a team of operations professionals, and building capabilities in a decentralized organizational structure. You are able to roll up your sleeves and dig into the details including footprint plans, scenario development, and face-to-face negotiations.
You have experience with working in a matrix environment and managing diverse cultures, as well as experience with customer and supplier interactions. Lean Six Sigma certifications are preferred, just like experience with high performing SIOP processes, especially materials planning, and plant scheduling. You have demonstrated skills of building processes and teams in an environment that nurtures and embraces innovation. We are searching for a performance-driven operations leader who has a ‘can do’ mentality, and endurance for the longer term. He/She has to be confident, stress-resistant, agile, and flexible. Good command of both written and spoken English is required. Frequent travel to manufacturing locations (25%) is part of your job, however Oldenzaal, CentroMotion’s Center of Excellence for the Power-Packer brand, is your base location.
