Plant General Manager Chemical

The organisation

The parent Company, an INTERNATIONAL CHEMICAL COMPANY, has positioned itself in the world of specialty chemistry with both well established and new products for global markets. The company has more than 1,400 employees and annual revenue of more than 295 million euros. 

The subsidiary Company is located in Sweden. The modern production site for calcium carbide is connected directly to a port and achieved with 50 employees has an annual capacity of 50,000 tons and an annual turnover of € 30 million. The space required for the production of lime is burned on site.

A close cooperation with the corporate headquarters is in addition to the production control system, an essential object of the future jobholder. Some support functions such as marketing / sales, purchasing and finance / controlling are provided on significant parts within the Group.

The position

• Site management in Sweden, the first contact for external on site
• Further development of the site, optimize the processes
• Assumption of legal obligations under Swedish law by entry in  the commercial register
• Disciplinary responsibility for the employees on site, direct management of 4-6 employees
• Intensive exchange with the production team
• Assessment and negotiation of services and location service benefits at the chemical park
• Planning and timely implementation of production targets, maintenance and investment
• Ideally, relevant knowledge in the areas of health, safty, environment and quality management
• Ensuring knowledge transfer between the production sites within the Group
• Ensuring Timely reports for the parent Company.
• Direct report to the CEO

Candidate profile

Qualification/ Experience

• Technical university degree , preferably in Chemical Engineering or equivalent ( mechanical, electrical, .... )
• At least ten years of professional experience, preferably in the chemical industry,
• Several years of management experience,
• Experience in managing projects
• Foreign languages ( at least fluent English )
• Affinity for rights issues ( health, safety, environment )
• Quality and cost awareness
• Basic knowledge of operating a fault operation
• Knowledge of SAP is an advantage
• Good computer skills ( Microsoft Office, Outlook)
