Plant Manager

The organisation

One of our clients, a large internationally operating company which produces, processes and distributes flat glass, we are looking to recruit a Plant Manager Netherlands to be based in Heerlen, the Netherlands. The company employs more than 10.000 people in Europe and is a supplier to the building, the automotive and the solar industry.

The position

The Plant Manager will have full responsibility for leading, managing and supervising all key activities of the locations Heerlen and Den Bosch in order to ensure optimum production, positive labour climate and accomplishment of the budgets in the limits defined by the company.

He/she will directly report to the Fabrication Manager Benelux.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Oversee all the daily operations of the plant, including production, sales, finance and planning.
• Strategy implementation: Steer the implementation of the divisional strategy in close collaboration with the subsidiary management team
• Sales: Steer sales activities of the subsidiary within identified geographical scope
• People Management: Lead, coach, motivate and develop the cooperation between employees
• Budget: Supervise and control the evolution of the costs in the subsidiary, analyze deviations and implement corrective actions when necessary
• Relationship Management: Initiate, build and maintain a wide variety of relationships internally and externally
• Reporting: Provide adequate quantitative and qualitative feedback based on KPI follow-up & analysis

Candidate profile

Candidate must be to be commercially driven and have a strong technical knowledge gained in a B2B production environment, building industry experience is strongly preferred. Candidates without experience in either production and/or sales will not be considered.

• Bachelor degree, preferably in Engineering, Economics or Business Administration
• Minimum of 10 years of working experience in a similar role in a B2B production environment is a must. Experience in the Building Industry is strongly preferred
• Minimum of 5 years experience in working in a managerial position in a manufacturing environment with at least 50-100 people
• The candidate has ideally held responsibility and/or gained experience in both sales and production.
• Native Dutch speaker, fluency in English required
