The organization
Maschem is a company that develops and produces foaming agents for the industrial and cosmetic business area. Activities centering on processing sustainable oleo chemical products. In 2014, the plant/factory was built in Terneuzen followed by a successful production startup. Maschem is part of the Musim Mas Group. The from origin Singaporean company has currently operations in 13 countries within Asia, Europe and North and South America. With a total workforce of 37,000 employees, they are one of the largest players in the field of palm oil production and processing of palm oil derivatives. Their products are sold all over the world. The group's activities cover the entire logistics value chain; from upstream, to medium and downstream activities, such as oil chemicals and other functional products. Their activities include food, industry and energy sectors.
The position
Maschem is due to their recent growth looking for a Plant Manager to optimize and realize further growth of the organization. As Plant Manager you are responsible for the total factory, you are managing 30 direct colleagues and 25 indirect colleagues within production, maintenance, HSEQ, supply chain and laboratory. The new state of the art factory is since two years operational. The highly automated process is focused on the development and production of foaming agents. Maschem is a “risk management” (BRZO) factory with certificates that represent their best practices with respect to safety, quality, environment en sustainability in this industry. In corporation with the compliance manager you are responsible for the safety, sustainability and quality of the plant. You ensure continuous optimization of the operational processes. As a result, new projects are successfully realized, changes are implemented and integrated in the factory. You will keep close contact with internal and external interested parties within the Netherlands and abroad on different levels. As a Plant Manager you are also financial responsible for the cost center within the factory.
Candidate profile
To be successful as a Plant Manager you have at least a Bachelor degree, preferable a Master in Chemical Technology, Business administration or Engineering. You have at least 10 years’ work experience in a management position, preferably in a highly regulated industry focused on the chemical, pharmaceutical or food industry. It is an advantage if you have experience with Ethoxylation / Alkoxylation or related industry. You are a people manager who can realize changes in an organization. You have strong analytical skills and ensure that processes are optimized, while you guaranty the quality. You can communicate at various levels and you are strong in stakeholders’ management. Finally, you are fluent in both Dutch and English.
