Product/Manufacturing Sourcing Manager

Profile

For the Product Sourcing department located at the Divisional Headquarter of our client, a Fortune 500 company and succesfull healthy food company in the world, we are looking for a Product Sourcing Manager who will report to the Head of Product Sourcing. The Product Sourcing Manager will play a vital role in the development of the manufacturing and co-manufacturing network, with the aim to provide the best sourcing of our finished products. Given its strategic character and wide exposure, this role also explicitly prepares for a future higher management role in operations.

Based on the business strategy the Product Sourcing department develops the manufacturing network, for it to optimally support business growth, innovation and expansion. Developing a strategy and providing concrete answers to questions such as “from where to source a new launch?”, “where to invest in a new line?”, “make or buy for a new product?”, “how to re-design the manufacturing base for lower cost?” are central in this departments mission.

Task and Responsibilities

The key responsibilities and main tasks of the Product Sourcing Manager are:

• developing – under the lead of a Product Sourcing director – the sourcing strategy for specific business categories, taking into account future growth, innovations and all other relevant business needs;
• working out – autonomously – business cases for specific business manufacturing (including sourcing) projects and initiating them up to the point the business case is preliminary validated and a project team is in place;
• animating these business cases with all relevant stakeholders to get the right inputs, get alignment and buy-in;
• being an active Operations – Business contact either for a region and/or through the projects he/she works on..

Requirements

• Master degree preferable in engineering, business administration or supply chain management;
• at least 7 years experience in s within an international manufacturing company, thus you have a combined knowledge in production, supply chain and/or purchasing;
• proven understanding of complex business processes and organizational dynamics;
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills which allow you to strongly interact with stakeholders, other departments, and across hierarchy;
• excellent (financial) analytical abilities and a good business understanding;
• proven track record in creating high level, high impact, strategic business cases preferable with significant investments;
• strong ability to quickly analyze and validate operational projects also based on technical/technological elements;
• innovative, creative, and analytical thinking to encounter challenges presented;
• pro-active, motivated and a self-confident team player with strong leadership skills;
• strong international experience in Middle East, APAC or LATAM preferable expat experience;
• excellent communicative and social skills, able to communicate clearly in English both verbal as well as in writing.

The ideal candidate has progresses strongly in former career steps, has international experience and the ambition for further international growth. The Product Sourcing Manager is used to work cross functional, is hands-on and is able to present, discuss and defend business cases to c-level executives.
