The position 

DEME is looking for 5 Project Directors.

A Project Director is responsible for projects + 500 Mio Euro, steering different Project Managers. 
 
Tasks & responsibilities

• As Project Director you lead the project managers and you will be leading more projects at the same time.
• Planning and scheduling all the activities necessary for the execution of the works in accordance with the contract requirements. 
• You are responsible for managing all the auxiliaries, the repairs and maintenance, project progress analysis, observing safety procedures and communicate with the insurance department, keeping the inventories up to date, procurement management. 
• You are a people manager responsible for the liaise with the personnel department, the organization of the personnel, the recruitment and dismissal of people, fixing the rules of your teams. You take care of the general welfare of the personnel and their families. You investigate personnel training needs and you organize trainings for them. You are able to create a real team spirit. 
• You are responsible in setting up a safety and quality assurance system and you are responsible for the daily application of this system in all its aspects. 
• You are responsible for the administrative and economical aspects of the projects including setting up a work budget. You are responsible for the invoicing and the expenses control. Your focus is to minimize the costs, to maximize the return and to optimize the net margin. You are responsible for taking care of the tax and other legislations, statutes and laws of the country where the project will take place. 
• You are responsible for the discussions of contractual matters with the customer. 
• You are a good networker, trying to find out what potential future projects might be in the countries where
• you operate. 
• You are responsible for reporting to the customer and to your management about the progress of the project, the future project needs, about the quality, the budget control. You also report the 3 monthly financial forecast.  

Candidate profile

• You are an engineer by education, technically strongly educated. 
• You are used to work in very complex environments.
• You are used in a joint venture of a lot of stakeholders and disciplines. Experience in gas & oil is a plus, experience with offshore projects is a plus, experience with dredging is a plus, experience with windmills is a plus. 
• You have an European blue card. 
• You are open for frequent travelling. 
• As you will be based in Zwijndrecht (BE) you are willing to relocate to this area. 
• You are attracted by adventure, open to manage a situation that always has unexpected and new elements. 
• You speak Dutch and/or English.
• As a Project Director you have the ability to lead different projects managers and to manage Geo/Geo Sea projects from a higher level point of view.
