As a head hunter we are searching for our client for following position: Project Director EPC Oil & Gas GCC Country
Purpose of Role
Responsible for managing and supervising project activities
Internal to organization: Project Manager / Construction Managers – Pipeline, Plant, Civil, etc
External to organization: Client, Sub Contractors, Suppliers, Vendors, TPI agencies and Government agencies
Responsibilities Prime
- Plan, co-ordinate and control all activities of the Project
- Understand overall scope of the project from the ITB & identify key milestones & deliverables
- Define Project Execution Philosophy
- Define Project Base Plan considering major milestones & deliverables along with Planning engineer/s
- Define the project organogram indicating type of skills sets required along with duration
- Identify , document & quantify likely risks in execution along with mitigation plan
- Ensure deliverables are met within planned timelines and cost to meet the overall project profitability
- Identify the resources (people, material, tools and equipment) needed for the execution of the project
- Define the Project Organogram & communicate roles & responsibilities to the entire team
- Organize internal kick-off meeting to brief project team regarding project scope & deliverables
- Review and finalize the Execution Philosophy based on results of Site Survey
- Manage and organise the resources (people, material, tools and equipment) needed for the execution of the project
- Manage the relationship with all the parties involved in the project: external – Client, subcontractors, local authorities, institutions, etc. and internal – HSE&QM, Asset Management, Supply Chain, etc.
- Risk Assessment on a monthly basis, identifying & implementing mitigation mechanisms
- Regularly monitor and communicate to the Head the performance (costs, revenues, payments, cash flows, KPIs, etc.) & status of the project
- Manage the project changes (evaluating their feasibility, identifying the technical solution to implement and identifying the required resources) including the ones that can require a change order (to be discussed with the Client)
- Regularly monitor the adherence to the contractual clauses
- Ensure that safety regulations, quality standards and relative procedures and practices are met
- Support the Sales in the proposal development and in negotiating change order with the Client
- Verify and approve the purchase of materials and services used during the project within his/her limits of authorisation
- Review and approve the monthly Activity Schedules (as prepared by the Project Control Manager)
- Raise invoice as per agreed schedule with the client
- Decide on extent of claims to be raised with the Client in consultation with the Head
- Obtain Project Completion Certificate from Client after submitting documents to support project completion as per Contract
- Prepare the Project Closeout Report & present to the Business Unit Head
- Identify suitable team of experts from the Construction group based on the proposal & communicate the construction/fabrication & installation related requirements of the bid
- Review status & proposal deliverables at regular intervals to ensure adherence to timelines
- Ensure identification , documentation & quantification of appropriate risks along with mitigation plan
- Ensure the preparation, the build-up and the dismantle of the construction site
- Ensure that safety regulations, quality standards and relative procedures and practices are met during the execution of the construction activities
- Quickly identify construction issues/risks identifying and implementing the required mitigation actions
- Organise the project construction activities and the assigned resource providing all needed explanation/support
- Supervise the activities and performance of the Subcontractors involved in the construction activities
- Promptly manage the incidents occurred in the site/field
Shared cross-functionally:
- Define the Project Plan and regularly update it with the support of the Project Control Manager
- Participate in client coordination and review meetings
- Communicate/ discuss the updated resource requirement plan with the relevant resource departments on a periodic basis
- Provide clarifications to management on instances of budgetary non-compliance
- Review Weekly Project Progress Report along with the Project Control Manager, and provide feedback to respective personnel/partners
- Identify reason for quantity variance, discuss the reason with the concerned department and forward the information as part of the monthly MIS
- Present Monthly Project Report to the Head

Professional Experience 25+ years

- Must have prior experience in similar role with Oil & Gas EPC Project valued over USD 500 million
- Knowledge of Primavera planning tool
- Knowledge of contract execution strategy
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
- Statutory compliances
- Local country law in general
- Knowledge of Industrial Standards/specifications
