The position

You will be overall responsible for Safety, Health, Environment & Quality in 15 plants all over Europe, but emphasis lies in the quality of products and processes (e.g. logistics). You take the lead in structurally reducing the number of customer complaints and improve quality KPI’s together with the local operations teams, who are reporting in matrix to the local plant managers and yourself. You are leading a central support team of 2 people, specialized in SPC, auditing and analyzing.

You standardize process control systems in quality areas and processes to ensure adherence to policies, regulations and procedures. You develop, identify, communicate and implement examples of best practice. You coordinate internal and external audits and are responsible for their implementation and for improvement measures. Furthermore, you develop reporting and follow-up of these reports: collecting and analyzing performance data against defined parameters, driving standardization within operations towards the next level with existing SPC tools/software (QDA).

You work closely with other internal stakeholders, such as R&D, sales, customer service, purchasing and operations for continuous improvement in customer satisfaction. You are reporting to the Manager Sales, Operations and Quality Europe. Your base will either be Oosterhout (NL) or Brühl (GE).

Candidate profile

You hold a Bachelor Degree in engineering or science. Further qualification on health, safety and quality (e.g. as QM auditor) is an asset. Profound knowledge of systems such as ISO 9001/14001/50001. Proven track record and experience in a similar position, preferably in the packaging industry. You have proven change management skills. You are analytic, persuasive and convincing. First of all you are a hands on manager, present in the workplace, but you also have the ability to effectively work in matrix organizations and manage international networks. Fluent English and German is a must; further languages (e.g. French) would be appreciated. You are willing to travel on a frequent basis (50-60%).
