At the moment In Europe there are about 100 company owned stores and 100 franchise stores.

The position

Store / Retail development throughout Europe. To take the business to the next level while delivering on the core values; Ambassadorship, Exceptional services, dedicated to people, honesty and integrity. 

The Retail Director will be in contact with internal and external customers. The Retail Director reports directly to the Commercial Director Europe.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Executing the vision, mission and overall strategy for the European retail business.
  • P&L responsibility for the four-wall management and operations of Retail.
  • Instrumental in the strategic growth for the retail organization.
  • Leads of implementation of EU retail growth strategy for each store concept that drives new store growth and profitability.
  • Collaborate with product / marketing leaders to deliver against these initiatives. 
  • Partner with EU management team, global team and Country General Managers.
  • Work with the Global Retail leadership to drive best practices, operational excellence and profitability and growth targets for EU Retail.
  • Create and develop the operational metrics to support and define the brand.
  • Drive achievement of margin and revenue goals based on financial plans.
  • Participate in strategy development with Marketing, Product, Sourcing and Sales Planning partners.
  • Maintain awareness of competition relative to product value relationship and customer profitability.
  • Provide leadership and management of cross functional division team and direct leadership of Retail Management team.
  • Key liaison with EU Marketing  & Product team focusing on product, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Presents line to key accounts in proactive sales role.

Candidate profile

  • Passionate commitment to excellence, a keen appreciation for the customer service aspect of specialty retail and an understanding of the importance of driving sales through on-going training, customer relations management, outstanding service and product knowledge while remaining focused on profitability through rigorous attention to expense management and operating/financial controls.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a well-regarded, specialty retail environment, ideally, during a period of growth; experience in a vertically integrated organization would be a plus. 
  • Extensive experience in fashion, footwear and / or sportswear business.
  • The successful candidate should have sound business judgment and strong general management skills; experience in specialty footwear is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope; must be able to act decisively in implementing solutions through the team actions. 
  • Strong organizational skills for planning work and continuously monitoring progress towards goals. 
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a surrounding of continual change; ability to respond flexibly in a quickly changing environment. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) for effective management of teams. Must possess ability to persuade, influence and build consensus among all parties.

Terms & Conditions

  • Salary indication is € 110.000 - 120.000, excluding a maximum additional 20% performance bonus.
  • Travel as necessary
