Scientific Business Unit Manager

For an organisation that offers genomic and transcriptomic services, performed in an ISO accredited lab, to support research, clinical trials and personalised medicine, we are currently seeking a Scientific Business Unit Manager.

The organisation’s customers rely on their expertise in RNA biomarker discovery, development and validation, their pioneering role in liquid biopsies and non-coding RNA, and experience with clinical trials to accelerate the development of their diagnostics and therapeutics. This service portfolio is built on state-of-the-art technologies such as RNA sequencing, high-throughput qPCR and digital PCR, all combined with advanced data analysis methods. The position

As Scientific Business Unit Manager, you manage the clinical services team, which is composed of project managers and scientists who lead, plan, execute and finalise customer projects within given time, cost and quality constraints. You will be the end responsible in coordinating and supervising their activities. In addition, you are responsible to manage some of the more complex projects. Candidate profile

The ideal candidate for this exciting position will recognise herself/himself in the below:

• You hold a Master’s or PhD in biotechnology, biomedical sciences, bio-engineering or related fields
• You have upwards of five years of experience in multidisciplinary drug development projects in a life science environment (Pharma, Biotech, CRO)
• In conjunction, you have a minimum of two years of experience in people management
• Related to the organisation’s subject matter, experience in biomolecular research is highly favoured
• Additionally: experience with transcriptome profiling and gene expression technologies (qPCR, NGS, ddPCR) are greatly welcomed
• Lastly, you possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and are able to express yourself perfectly in the English language.
