Senior Project Director

The organisation

A market leading multidisciplinary project organization in Warehouse Automation, Parcel and Postal. Elected as ‘Top Employer’ and ‘Best Employer’ for several years in a row. Due to the continued expansion of the organization, they are looking for a (Senior) Project Director.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver large and complex material handling projects within the global distribution and parcel & postal industries
• Lead a multi-disciplined team including sub-contractors
• Project financial and budgetary control (including project cash flow management) 
• Project planning and integration of the project plan with the Customer’s overall planning
• Quality control and risk management
• Management of the customer relationship and customer expectations
• Management reporting, ensuring the identification and escalation of issues/ risks
• Understanding contract terms and conditions and maintaining a clear document trail
• Selection of third party suppliers, including contract negotiation

Candidate profile

• Entrepreneurial background, natural leader, excellent communication and motivational skills
• Top player in execution of complex projects in a multi-disciplinary environment. Experience with delivery of (supplier side) projects exceeding Euro 20 million
• High technically, commercial and contractual competencies with good commercial acumen
• Dynamic problem solver with drive and resilience to deliver challenging projects
• Structured and organized approach to project management with flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing project environment
• Degree qualified or other relevant technical qualification
• Understanding of control systems hierarchy and implementation
• Customer focus is of the highest importance
• Ability to act in different cultural environments and integrate different multi-site teams
