Senior Project Manager Equipment

The organisation 

Maasvlakte II opened in 2015 and remains the world’s most advanced fully automated terminal, and equipped to handle the largest container ships way into the future. In 2019, the addition of two Super Quay Cranes and ongoing efficiency improvements will increase volume capacity by more than 20%.

The use of green energy and fully electrified equipment made it the world’s first zero emission terminal for CO2, NOx and particulate emissions. With fully fenced-off automated areas, separating men and machines, it is also one of the safest. This makes APM Terminals Maasvlakte II one of the most innovative terminals in the world. 

More than 500 employees are employed within the organization.

The position

As a senior project manager you will work on the definition and execution of projects at the terminal.

Tasks & responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• The definition of the scope and technical specs;
• The project planning and definition of the quality specs;
• Delivering results on time and within budget;
• The setup of a cross-functional project team with internal colleagues (in close alignment with line mgt.) and external resources;
• The tender, negotiation and contracting process with international partners and suppliers;
• The entire product implementation from Supplier side to APMT MV2 starting with tendering and contracting, over manufacturing and assembly monitoring, up to delivery and unloading arrangements, concluded by testing, commissioning and handover to internal stakeholders of the standing organisation;
• The in-time integration specification and planning with internal stakeholders of Operations, IT, Facilities and the later realisation and handover;
• The continuous improvement of projects and project management processes;
• Work permits and TRA’s (Taak Risico Analyses);
• Toolboxmeeting and managing the internal team (creative, strategy, design) on deliverables;
• Furthermore, arranging large scale and project HSSE plans, realisation and practical follow-up with all internal and external parties and their site crews;
• Process monitoring, evaluation, administration and reporting;
• Stakeholder management;
• Day to day contact with our clients;
• Planning and budget management;
• First point of contact for technical issues.

Candidate profile

• Bachelor or Master Degree (pre: Wtb);
• 8+ year experience in project management with (pre) equipment;
• Pre: experienced in automated container handling equipment;
• VCA VOL or equivalent;
• Experience with MS Office / planning systems;
• Result driven;
• Structured;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Team player;
• Fluent English and Dutch.
