Vice President Global Supply Chain Sourcing & Purchasing

Our Client is a leading EMS service provider and a highly respected Public Limited Company founded in 1985. The company has since been providing total Electronics and Manufacturing solutions in Thailand with additional regional and global operations across South East Asia, Europe and USA. 

The position

This position is to support new manufacturing site as a part of our operations expansion.
A global Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider of full turnkey and box-build contract manufacturing services. The Company, based in Thailand serves several top tier International companies, mostly in the industrial and professional electronic equipment sectors. We are well positioned for growth with our regional presence that enables manufacturing excellence through a network of facilities situated in key markets & geographies that in turn provide its customers with the resources, technology and capacity to optimize their operations and cost

Tasks & responsibilities

• The Vice President, Global Supply Management has overall responsibility for the development and implementation of the companys supply management of sourcing and purchasing strategy.
• Develop strong win/win relationships with suppliers that will allow for combined efforts that will take cost and steps out of the process, thereby improving performance and profits.
• This role will provide strategic thought leadership, influence, and hands-on engagement to create an integrated supply chain for the global enterprise.  This senior executive will work with CEO and Director of Global supply chain to develop and implement the worldwide sourcing, procurement strategy while integrating operations, processes, and systems across the companies supply chain network. 
• Develop and implement global best practices across all supply chain functions that drive improvement in overall business results
• Communicate the vision to suppliers to elicit them as partners in the new direction of global supply chain management. Develop and maintain on-going relationships with key suppliers and establish effective programs and processes of ensuring best in class supplier performance. 
• Identify strategies of cost improvements in direct and indirect materials, capital expenditures and transportation
• Ensure relevant supply management policies, practices and procedures are developed, maintained and adhered to
• Develop and retain a high performance supply chain leadership team and acting as a coach and mentor for the team
• Manage the supply base to ensure that any potential risks are identified and that contingencies are put into effect to minimize those risks
• Drive continuous improvement by utilizing key performance indicators, metrics, tools, procedures and systems to achieve best-in-class performance
• Identify, build and maintain strong and enduring relationships with critical suppliers
• Ensure adherence to all regulations and compliance
• Ensure all regulatory and compliance measures are met as they relate to supply and import requirements.
• Develop high-potential and high-performing staff and implement strategies to become a more competitive procurement function, driving enhanced economic value to the enterprise. 
• Participate in the strategic and tactical negotiation of major supplier contracts. 
• Lead in the evaluation of in-sourcing strategies, assessment and deployment. 
• Implement continuous improvement processes within the supply chain group, as well as with suppliers. 
• Lead the effort in the design, development and implementation of integrated information systems within the manufacturing, materials, and distribution functions. 

Candidate profile

• A strong supply chain background and previous responsibility for managing a supply chain function. 
• A demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within the company, as well as globally with suppliers.
• Knowledge of manufacturing
• Unquestionable integrity and trustworthiness. 
• Strongly grounded and at ease working in a technology-driven manufacturing environment. 
• Outstanding presentation skills, strong competence in preparing and presenting business direction, strategy, products, services, and capabilities. 
• Embraces a style of accountability, continuous improvement and acts with a sense of urgency. 
• An excellent coach and team leader who develops clear and concise stretch goals, and is able to formulate and execute a plan. 
• Superior project skills that encompass multiple tasks on multiple projects. 
• Working knowledge of value engineering 
• International coordination of sourcing materials
• 20 or more years of progressive responsibility and leadership in supply chain management; experience in an executive role.
• Expat who legally working in Thailand
• Experience leading an organization through a restructure, transformation effort that requires outstanding leadership capabilities, ability to communicate a compelling vision for the supply management organization, and ability to drive results while developing a strong team
• In-depth knowledge of current supply management / logistics practices 
• Proven ability to develop and implement supply management strategies that support the business objectives 
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operating plans, including a thorough knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis and cost control practices 
• Demonstrated ability to manage cost performance and drive improvement 
• Extensive experience in the development, negotiation and implementation of contracts, including the management of large multi-national suppliers
• Experience in developing and utilizing metrics, both internally and externally, to drive performance 
• Experience with supply chain management technologies and systems 
• History of and passion for achieving results
