• End-responsibility for the international operations of one of their business units
• Must have a technical/ operations background and experience managing international operations in an engineering environment (no process industry)
• Must have the Dutch nationality

The position

For one of their globally operating business units our client is seeking a highly qualified Vice President. He/she will be in charge of maximizing the financial performance as well as for achieving key performance metrics. Being based in the Netherlands, the Vice President will manage a globally dispersed team and have flexibility to move freely between the global operating units.

Responsibilities & Deliverables

• Responsible for P&L, including the achievement of safety, cost, quality, delivery, revenue, and other financial targets.
• Drive and enhance product reliability to ensure sustainable customer loyalty.
• Lead a complex, global business with more than 300-500 employees and both direct and matrix reporting relationships.
• Manage site visits of both internal and external customers.
• Effectively utilize Lean principles.
• Develop and implement strategic and operational plans.
• Ensure that quality standards and certifications are achieved and sustained.
• Ensure effective employee and labor relations.

Candidate profile

• Dutch nationality.
• Minimum Masters degree in Business, Operations, Engineering or a related discipline. Strong preference for an MBA.
• Minimum of 10+ years of progressively responsible and successful operational management and strategy development experience, including profit-and-loss responsibility, in an industrial manufacturing, B2B environment (no process industry) with high quality requirements.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate a multi-cultural staff.
• Well developed leadership skills and ability to quickly establish credibility.
• Drive and strong result orientation.
• Flexibility and self-reliance.
• Strategic, out-of-the box thinker with excellent analytical, planning, and communication skills.
• People-oriented, intelligent, professionally aggressive, with a strong work ethic.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve bottom line results while balancing competing priorities.
• Hands-on experience developing, implementing, and upgrading operational systems and controls.
• Fluency in English is required.

Location

The position is based in the Netherlands, frequent travel is required.
