The position

It is the ambition of Schunk Xycarb Technology to enable the sustainability of the world with pure excellent technology.

With your in-depth knowledge of ‘thin-film’ markets and technologies and your ability to inspire the Product Marketing and Business Development team you will make a distinctive contribution to the global success of the organization. Both by organic growth and by acquisition.

In this challenging role you will be responsible for identifying and exploring new global markets and industries for Schunk Xycarb Technology high standard products and services.

In this job you are focused on marketing from a technical point of view. You are part strategist, part innovation director and part technology leader. As a member of the Strategic MT you work closely with the President, Director Sales & MD Asia, Director Sales & MD USA, Sales Europe, Directors Operation (in the Netherlands, Germany and the USA), CFO and Global HR Manager.

Tasks & responsibilities

You take the lead in defining the business development road map for the coming 3 to 5 years. You will be the orchestrator of complex business processes, translate the marketing technology landscape into business growth and negotiate about the final terms of conditions for new and existing long-term agreements. As an advisor of the President of Schunk Xycarb Technology you will be involved in potential mergers and acquisitions.

You are a change agent, thinking ‘outside in’ and working across the company to integrate R&D strategy with global business strategy and create value based competitive advantage. Thanks to your in-depth understanding of ‘thin-film’ markets, technologies and applications you are able to create a marketing, technology and product road map in line with the organization strategy. You will use data from sources as competitive intelligence, web analytics, customer databases, marketing campaigns and technical analysis to give direction to the Sales Organization.

Your worldwide team (about 25 members) includes Strategic Business Area leaders, Product Managers and Application Managers. Also you will work closely with R&D. Together you realize a successful product portfolio and market strategy that enables further business growth, now and in the future.

Candidate profile

• Proven track record in Marketing, Sales or Business Development related to the Semiconductor, LED- , Solar or Flat Panel Display Industries
• Entrepreneurial, can-do attitude, business wise, flexible and creative
• Result driven, willingness to be a champion for the customer and Schunk Xycarb Technology
• Inspiring and confident collaborative leader; dedicated, reliable and self-critical
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English; mastery of German and Dutch is a plus
• Lives on driving distance of Helmond (The Netherlands) and/or Heuchelheim (Germany)
• MSc in experimental-, chemical- or molecular physics, chemical engineering or equivalent
• Able and willing to travel worldwide at least 50-60% of your time
