International Purchase Manager

Our client is a leading solution provider and a leading global supplier of innovative resins, uniquely suited for the needs of coatings, graphic arts and adhesives industries.

The Challenge

As a Purchasing Manager you lead this Coating Resins Purchasing organization as to deliver the defined results. You develop and execute the Business Unit Purchasing strategies for the specific categories and key suppliers across the geographies. You manage all purchasing activities within the business unit, including the implementation of accepted wide sourcing strategies. You develop professionalism and ensure proper implementation of leading edge purchasing capabilities as to become a world class Purchasing organization. You lead sourcing strategy development, deployment and supplier management within a specific spend area as to deliver maximized total cost of ownership savings within the spend area. You lead a category spend area by managing Purchasing capabilities and ensuring proper implementation.

The Ideal

You have a bachelor degree or other relevant academic education with indepth knowledge of the category/business unit spend area, sales and purchasing processes (sourcing and operational) in a business-to-business context (preferably 5-8 years). A recognized qualification in Purchasing is an asset. You are able to build bridges, work in an international environment and build strong functional networks. You strike a smart balance between thinking and doing. You are familiar with working in a strong market-driven environment. You're a good communicator, responsive to internal and external clients. You are full of initiative, inspire your environment, and you don't let go until the job is done. You are an excellent negotiator. You build relationships naturally, and express your ideas with ease and flair in English and preferably one other European language.
