The organisation

This start-up is basically a real estate company. Their aim is to quickly conquer the market for local food-delivery-oriented food halls.

Such a food hall is a location in which several plug & play kitchen units are outfitted. To be rented by restaurant owners or other food entrepreneurs, who in this way can participate in the fast home delivery economy in an accessible and low-cost manner. HQ is located in Amsterdam.

The position

For our client, a hyper-growth startup with multi-million dollar funding, we are looking for a fast thinker, even faster decision maker, problem solving leader, for whom the word ‘cannot’ doesn’t exist.

We are looking for someone who understands what it takes to acquire real estate in challenging (usually inner-city) locations (retail/food/hospitality) and transform them into the food halls of the future: kitchen concepts from which restaurant owners (who work on a rental basis from these kitchen units) can cheaply and plug and play participate in the food-delivery market.

Tasks & responsibilities

As Global Head of C&D you are first and foremost responsible for creating all the right conditions and support for the so called Country Directors, who in their turn are responsible for the operations in their designated countries. If you perfrom outstandingly this means the Country Directors will be able to accelerate operations and create a world wide network of these fooddelivery-hubs.

The job includes, but is not limited to:

• Have full ownership of the site design
• Have full ownership of the site operating model
• Lead a global team of Country Directors to replicate the concept
• Support site due diligence, construction, opening and operations
• Lead design, costing and construction and support Country Directors
• Build supporting teams in various markets
• Build the future of the Design & Operating Model
• And what ever else that may come your way in the dynamics associated with gigantic growth ambitions!

Candidate profile

• BSc/MSc operating level
• Fast thinker, fast decision maker
• High energy level
• self-starting
• Flexible can-do mentality
• Solution-oriented people skills
• English: spoken and written Professional level
• Experience with real estate development and especially construction management in retail and/or hospitality
• Restaurant construction experience is a must
• Must be able to technically design kitchen layouts and review detail designs produced by third parties
• Construction value engineering (cost saving)
• Project estimating and management
