The Real Estate team manages Global and European Real Estate strategies where it has built a strong long-term (>25 year) track record. Besides strategies in listed real estate, the team manages strategies in non-listed real estate. All strategies follow the same investment philosophy. We believe the underlying real estate drives future return, regardless whether you invest in a listed company or a private fund. Every building is unique and the location quality and building quality of that building drive future returns. We use our data-driven approach to help us quantify the quality of the >500.000 different buildings we analyze in a consistent way across sectors and countries. Combined with our forward looking views about sustainability, societal, financials, management and corporate governance quality, we calculate expected returns to construct the best possible portfolio given client preferences.

In line with the Ingrowth Quota and Target Ratios Act that took effect on 1 January 2022, they also aim for a minimum of 30% women and 30% men in the three levels immediately below the Management Board (senior staff).

The position

& Female Capital is searching for a Portfolio Manager Listed Real Estate for Van Lanschot Kempen Investment Management.

We are looking for a Portfolio Manager, focusing on Listed Real Estate Equities, to join the Real Estate team at Van Lanschot Kempen Investment Management.

The Kempen Real Estate Team manages both listed and non-listed Real Estate strategies with assets under management totalling approximately € 4 billion. The team uses an innovative, data-driven approach and has a world-leading investment track record versus respective benchmarks and peers. We pride ourselves in our unique investment process, which leverages our information technology and data-science capabilities to complement our fundamental real estate investment expertise. With this role, you’ll have the unique chance to work as a Portfolio Manager inside a leading investment management team operating in a global investment universe. Tasks & responsibilities

In the position of Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for analysing Listed Real Estate companies using the in-place investment framework. We process millions of data-points daily to help analyse the quality of real estate, sustainability, financials, management and corporate governance quality. The combination of investment, data and ESG knowledge is critical in this role.   

The Van Lanschot Kempen Real Estate team consists of 10 energetic and dedicated professionals who work together in a ‘one-team’ approach. The team operates as an independent investment team within Van Lanschot Kempen Investment Management, working closely with other investment specialists within our organization. We thrive on diversity and have five nationalities within our Real Estate team. Members work out of London and Amsterdam.

Ambitious, entrepreneurial and passion for investing. This is how we can best describe you in the position of Portfolio Manager at the Real Estate team. We are looking for a driven and curious investment professional with strong analytical skills and eager to learn. 

You also have:

• Up to 5 years working experience in Listed Real Estate investing, ideally analysing European REITs / real estate companies
• A passion for ESG is essential, and having experience with ESG integration in an investment process is advantageous
• A true team-player, and a strong communicator who can play an active role in growing the assets under management of our strategies
• We consistently aim to outperform the market making this job perfect for an intelligent, humble yet competitive person
