The organisation
PetroChina Company Limited, a joint stock limited company, is one of the major oil and gas producers and distributors in China, as well as a significant player in the global oil and gas industry. PetroChina is engaged in a wide range of activities related to oil, gas and new energy, and sustainably provide energy and oil products for economic and social development.
PetroChina International Netherlands BV is a new subsidiary in Rotterdam, that provides services to the North-western European physical fuels market.
The position
As Business Development Director you will setup the business plan, including corresponding strategy, to grow PetroChina’s market share in North-western Europe. Your focus will be the development of a sustainable book in the ARA market with marine bunker/fuel oil as priority. Aviation fuels, the inland barging sector and renewable fuels, such as biodiesel and bio-LNG, will follow upon a successful market approach of the marine bunker/fuel oil market.
You have the crude oil market figured out. You understand commodity flows and supply chain characteristics and feel very comfortable in a commercial role. Developing business, expanding your network and connecting people gives you energy. You take the lead in market analysis and the development of value propositions. You are a loyal and result oriented candidate that shows flexibility, and you are an easy-going team player.
You will join as the fifth member of the Rotterdam team. Your entrepreneurial spirit will ensure growth of a sustainable book of business in the region. You are in charge of the execution and logistics of physical trade and are familiar with logistics and the ports in the ARA Range. Your success will enable growth of the team. The Rotterdam office, currently consisting of a team of 4 people, is expected to grow to a team of 20 people in the coming years.
You will work closely with the trading desks in London, Beijing and Singapore. The Rotterdam office is involved in physical trading and logistics and also has financial and administrative staff to support you.
Candidate profile
- Experience and knowledge of bunker supply chains is a must-have. Trading experience is considered a plus.
- Track record in Business Development.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree.
- Entrepreneur, proactive, empathic, energetic, ambitious, strategically strong and ability to focus in a fast-moving environment.
- Result driven and with a bias for action.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch.
