Our client provides logistic services for a European Group leader in the distribution of pharmaceutical products and services to the healthcare market. The network to which the organization belongs to covers more than 20 countries in the EU. The organization takes care of a complete range of specialist pre-wholesale logistic services across Europe.
 

De functie

The Business Development Manager must help in the development of the existing and new customer base. He/she will report to the General Manager in the Netherlands with a strong dotted line to the Commercial Development Manager Europe.


The role of the Business Development Manager will be to:

  • Identify opportunities within existing and new Pharmaceutical / Healthcare companies and intermediaries to sell the services and logistical solutions of the organisation
  • Build robust commercial relationships with Pharmaceutical / Healthcare companies to maximize profitable business opportunities for the organisation and the network she belongs to
  • Work in a matrix structure to develop solutions to meet and exceed customer’s complex requirements which will include considerable internal networking
  • Work to coordinate and lead the responses to tenders and bids
  • Identify new market opportunities, and work with colleagues to implement processes to maximize these opportunities
  • Work to achieve the company’s ambitious targets for growth and profitability in your market
  • Be involved in all elements of expanding the local country business linked to European business as demand is generated
  • Understand the complex regulatory environment in order to advise customers with the ultimate aim of building credibility, driving business growth and maximizing profits of our client
  •  Actively gather information to compete effectively for business, including developing new relationships with Pharmaceutical / Healthcare companies etc.
  • Work towards positioning the company as the major player in the European marketplace for Pharmaceutical / Healthcare logistics

De eisen

  • Proven track record of business success, together with the personality, credibility and relationship building skills needed to operate at all levels
  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical / Healthcare bodies and an understanding of how these will affect the European and Global Pharmaceutical / Healthcare industry
  • The ability to be self –motivated and well organized, as well as having excellent interpersonal, selling, account management and presentation skills
  • The ability to lead, motivate and inspire with a wide variety of different skills and experience levels who operate within a matrix structure
  • A customer centric attitude, specifically including an empathetic and understanding approach to customers, whilst maintaining a clear focus on the commercial realities.
