Huka Bikes in Oldenzaal (the nicest town in the Netherlands) is a stable growing company, founded in 1975. Meanwhile the company has grown into an international organization and is part of the listed Swedish Medcap. Huka has ambitious plans for the Dutch, German, Belgian and Scandinavian markets, among others, where sales should grow substantially in the coming years. In addition, they want to further explore other international markets.
Huka Bikes is a healthy and profitable company with 35 motivated and committed employees.
The clientele is diverse and consists of renowned large and medium-sized companies, as well as various SME companies, active in the aids industry (do-means), but also in the bicycle branch. The organization is characterized by: professionalism, quality, entrepreneurship, sober pragmatism and a close-knit corporate culture in which there is room for initiatives, humor and criticism.
But certainly not unimportant is the contribution they make to society with their products. Products that enable people with mobility limitations to participate in everyday life again. The position
Huka's new Director of Sales & Marketing is a down-to-earth and pragmatic candidate who is adept at B2B sales and speaks their languages. The right candidate has proven commercial qualities to further grow the company and develop new markets for the wide collection of innovative adapted bicycles that are developed and produced in Oldenzaal. Huka stands for carefree cycling for everyone, on the bike that suits you.
Huka has ambitious growth plans to continue the success of recent years. Business development, sales and marketing are key to determining the strategic growth path in both the short and long term. The organization is ready to take steps in this regard. Capitalizing on distinctiveness plays an important role in this. This requires strategic and analytical insight, excellent sales and marketing skills, alignment within an international organization and a 'make it happen' mentality.
To bring focus within the organization it was decided to create this new position. You will drive the company's business and increase sales, identify and develop new business opportunities and build the presence of the company and its brands. As Director of Sales & Marketing, you will lead the sales and marketing team, be part of a three-member management team and be a sparring partner to the General Manager.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Ultimately responsible for the sales and marketing team (9 fte)
- Setting up business in new (international) markets, developing new partners and growing sales with current partners
- Determining the sales strategy and formulating it into a clear and realistic growth plan for the coming years
- Building further brand awareness and a strong Huka Bikes image as an innovative and inspiring partner
- Defining opportunities and growth areas i.c.m. developing new business models to ensure profitable growth
- Support the product manager and sales manager in the development of innovative product-market combinations
- As people manager, stimulate, motivate and inspire the 'we-feeling' by actively involving employees, outlining clear expectations and reinforcing synergy
This role is ideally suited for a driven and enthusiastic candidate who thinks in terms of opportunities and possibilities. You like the challenge to let Huka Bikes grow nationally and internationally in the world of 'special bikes'.
Candidate profile
- For this senior position, we are looking for a B2B person pur sang, capable of being the central pillar within an ambitious organization
- You bring a successful track record, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in strategic business sales and marketing within B2B
- Completed HBO/WO education, preferably in Business Economics or Business Administration and/or MBA
- You are analytically and conceptually strong. You have a broad interest in economics and strategy
- You are a people manager and possess personal leadership: you have successfully managed sales and marketing teams and professionals
- You possess excellent business acumen and have a nose for relevant trends and developments in the market. Knowledge and experience in the devices industry or bicycle industry (special bikes) is definitely an advantage.
