Funding Manager

The organisation

One of the foundation's central activities involves coordinating preclinical development projects, so called Demonstrator projects to demonstrate the effectiveness of the innovated development process. As part of these projects will originate from the academic setting, additional funding may be needed. Due to the often early stage of these projects, investors may not yet be ready to finance, and funds may need to come from subsidies, donations, venture capital or angel investors. As Funding Manager you will focus on activating these additional sources of financing. Additionally you will engage in international collaborations to strengthen the organisation's international profile. For instance facilitating the initiation and coordination of grant applications to attract additional funding (e.g. Horizon Europe, IHI, NIH) to support the program.

The position

For Oncode Accelerator, a national growth fund program that aims to innovate the preclinical development process for cancer therapy, we are currently looking for a Funding Manager. Candidate profile

You, as a Funding professional, will recognise yourself in the following. You have: 

• A Master's degree in Science, Business & Innovation or a related study, with a PhD considered a big asset;
• Between 5 and 10 years of working experience in a business development, or related role in life sciences, preferentially of oncology-related assets. Industry experience is preferred;
• Proven track record in business development activities and deal-making;
• Strong analytical and valuation skills;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities;
• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite;
• Willingness to engage in international collaborations and travel as needed;
• Fluency in English is required, with a passive knowledge of Dutch a plus.
