The position

Hugo Boss has a global presence with over 1,300 retail stores worldwide. The company has a workforce of approximately 17,000 employees, representing a rich diversity with individuals from 112 different nationalities. Notably, Hugo Boss is committed to inclusivity, with women comprising 50% of leadership positions within the organization. For the Benelux region, Hugo Boss maintains a contemporary and expansive office with a showroom located in Amsterdam. With the current Head of Retail departing, we are actively seeking a new team member to fill this crucial management position.

Tasks & responsibilities

The Head of Retail holds responsibility for overseeing store operations, aiming to drive profitable retail growth through enhanced productivity and the expansion of the network. The primary challenge is setting next-level retail standards in a competitive labour market, where the top priority for all sales associates is delivering a superior customer experience.

You will manage the operations of 50 points of sale, comprising brand stores situated in city centers, shop-in-shops (such as De Bijenkorf and Inno), and six outlet stores. The cumulative net sales from these outlets amount to approximately 100 million euros, with a workforce of around 400 individuals employed across these various store formats.

Your team of direct reports will consist of four Area Managers, two General Managers and one Training Manager. The largest stores have a General Manager, other stores are being led by a Store Manager who reports to an Area Manager. In this position you report to the Retail Director Western Hub, Adrien Hiver. 

As you will be in the middle of the action you have a close collaboration with Merchandise, Visual Marketing & Retail Operations teams in the market. Furthermore, you will have a close link with all your retail colleagues within the Benelux, Europe and worldwide.

This leadership role is ideal for an inspiring and energetic individual, passionate about retail and fashion. Responsible for one of Hugo Boss's largest markets, you'll have the resources to improve performance. Leading the strategy, guiding the team, and delivering results in a dynamic, international, and inclusive environment are key aspects of this role.

  • Academic level of education and thinking
  • Proven track record in expanding and optimizing retail operations
  • Experience in a Monobrand environment, preferably in the fashion industry, is highly advantageous
  • Extensive experience in a leadership role
  • A minimum of ten years of professional experience, with at least five years in the BeNeLux region
