The position

In this challenging position as Manager Business Development, your primary goal is to further develop Genexis’ position in Europe. To successfully achieve this goal, you have to gain knowledge and understand the needs and potential of each specific country in order to realize sustainable growth by strategically expanding the pool of customers (network providers) and creating long term partnerships.

Furthermore, you will facilitate and manage your team of five Business Development Professionals in multiple European countries to achieve strong growth within their dedicated country. Your strategic business development and management experience, combined with your hands-on approach, will lead you and your team to success. Together with your team you will expand Genexis’ presence in existing as well as new European markets. By approaching the right customers, focusing on their specific needs and making them aware of Genexis’ added value, you will look to increase sales by approximately 30% in your first year.

Eventually you will lead Genexis to new heights in the European market and help the company achieve the ultimate goal; connecting people to the world by providing them with fiber broadband!

Tasks & responsibilities

The Manager Business Development  is responsible for the business / market development activities of Genexis in multiple countries within the European region, for example Italy, France, Spain, the UK and the Baltic countries.

This challenging role combines a hands-on sales aspect as well as a management aspect. You will focus strongly on realizing commercial growth and further developing the markets in the previously mentioned countries by understanding the different needs per country and implementing the right strategy. Your interest in and understanding of different cultures and ways of doing business, is crucial to successfully achieve this goal.

You are also responsible for the European business development team, consisting of one or more dedicated and experienced business developers per country. Together you will expand Genexis’ position in the market and become the go-to partner in that specific country. Together with your team you will position Genexis as a reliable partner for your customers. Not by just selling them a product or service, but by making them understand the true added value that Genexis can offer their business.

Your eagerness and capability to quickly adapt to different cultures and markets, combined with your international business development experience, will provide you with the necessary set of tools to excel in this exciting position. Furthermore, your hands-on and engaging leadership style stimulates your team of international sales professionals towards sustainable growth. Approximately 40% of your time (post covid) will be spent abroad visiting (potential) European customers and your sales team. When not on the road, you will primarily work out of the office in Eindhoven. You will also have the opportunity to sometimes work from home. Your direct reporting line will be to the CCO.

Candidate profile

  • A Bachelor’s, or an equivalent, degree in a relevant study
  • Multiple years of relevant international working experience, preferably in the IT or telecom sector, and a strategic builder
  • Perfect leadership and strong sales skills to lead a team of professionals
  • Strong analytical and excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 40%) and to work in an international field
  • Strong team player but won’t shy away from taking responsibility
  • Common sense, result driven and open minded
  • Perfect knowledge of the English language
  • Residing in the Netherlands
