Dalcon – Eurostat – The Netherlands

Dalcon - Eurostat is the Dutch subsidiary of the international Eurostat Group. At this moment it has a very small sales team and two inside disciplines (but that needs to be changed). The Dutch operation today consists of: 

  • Sales Manager of Dalcon - Eurostat, responsible for business development, sales representatives and recruitment (reports directly to European Director in France) 
  • Sales representatives 
  • Operations and warehousing 
  • Finance / administration and HR related issues (reports directly to the Finance director in France).

The Sales Managers’ Position

The Role

The SM will enhance the Dutch company’s’ overall (long and short term) performance by leading and managing the development and the successful implementations of the Dutch company’s business plan and next years sales results. The key challenges of the new SM will be:
• to further build up the present sales organization (almost a greenfield operation)
• develop the capabilities within the existing small sales team
• to successfully continue/ recapture Dalcon – Eurostats’ growth strategy
• To professionalize the processes within the local organization
• Business development in the broadest sense
• Key account management for the large global companies.
• Involved in in-depth development from design to production (and therefore “just in time principle”) of customised products with key accounts.

Reporting lines

The SM will directly report to the Executive Director of the company and chairman in France. The SM will meet with the Director together with the Finance Director in France frequently to review the performances and to discuss strategic issues.
The SM will head the local sales team. The Team will meet on a monthly basis to review actual performance against plan.

Accountabilities and tasks

• To ensure that the companies’ business results are achieved in line with the agreed plans in an efficient manner, thus safeguarding the Dalcon - Eurostat shareholders interests
• To develop and execute Dalcon - Eurostat ‘s 5-year business plan an next years score card
• To ensure that all business processes are executed effective and efficiently to the right calibre and level of expertise.
• Planning and annual appraisal
• To safeguard the financial issues with regard to clients.
• To inspire, guide and coach, develop and manage the members of the local team, including the definition of the individual accountabilities & business target and regular performance reviews
• To ensure that the companies image, mission an services are externally presented in a consistent manner and with a power full positive image and proud ness to potential customers with a view to maximize gross margin
• To authorise proposed programmes as written in the business plan
• To actively develop/promote/stimulate an company culture, reflecting an international customer focussed-, entrepreneurial-, performance orientated organisation, as a team effort with open communication geared to continuously deliver quality services to the satisfaction of the customers
• To periodically evaluate/ Audit Dalcon - Eurostat against agreed company standards/ norms/ plans
• To ensure effective communication between collegues.
• To inform the Executive Director delivering shareholders value growth
• Identify the key success factors and long term business development opportunities, internally and externally, as well as assessing potential risks, to ensure follow up/anticipation actions by the sales team
• To manage continuous improvements of the Company’s core business processes, including the development of new business
• To monitor and appraise competitors and prepare appropriate plans
• To maximise existing- and new customer relationships
• To ensure that the company’s manuals are regularly reviewed and updated

About the profile

• We are looking for a senior business unit manager or Sales Manager who preferably has been working in the industry supplying environment.
• Has experience in management of a medium sized professional sales organisation
• Proven track record in (international) business development: designs, leads and organizes and performs in marketing, sales and acquisition. Well developed commercial sense to fully exploit business opportunities as they arise
• Preferably the candidate is to come from an organisation active in a technical supplying and/or packaging and an international technology driven industry
• A natural charismatic driver with a sound well balanced judgement
• Combines strategic thinking with delivery orientation
• Preferable the candidate has a keen awareness of the dynamics in the main business areas of Dalcon - Eurostat
• Sound knowledge and experience in all the financial aspects of a 2 - 5 MIO firm.
• Entrepreneurial mindset wit a strong commercial drive, ambitious and welcomes the challenge to achieve a situation of sustained growth and profitable for the company
• Inspiring and energetic personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to convince, motivate and coach his sales team members and co workers.
• Result oriented and moist effective and responsive to customer needs and concerns
• Self motivated, pro active and committed

Work experience

  • Minimal 8 - 10 years of sales management or BU management experience, leading a project based services operation, experienced team builder 
  • Relevant (international) “hands on” business experience preferably in the technical supplying / packaging industry (10 - 15 years) 
  • Affinity with, has been exposed before to a Founder/Owner situation 
  • Experienced designer of strategy and experienced translator of strategy in to operational marketing & sales activities

  • French speaking and writing is preferred, but not a must. 
  • Living in the Netherlands 
  • Frequent travel inside NL, 50% of the work load

Location

• Deventer (office), but is very well possible and discussable when candidates DO NOT live in the neighbourhood. Due to business development and (key) client visits, candidate may therefore live elsewhere in the Netherlands.

The remuneration package is in line with the level and nature of the position.
