With brands like Dantherm, Trotec and Master the Dantherm Group is a European leader in portable and installed climate control solutions for a wide range of industries and uses. Next to 3 European factories (Germany, Italy and Denmark) the organization has a 50.000 sqm distribution center in Germany to guarantee a just in time delivery. The Dantherm Group is a very healthy company with a well-filled order portfolio. To maintain and expand this market position, an optimally functioning sales organization is of great importance. Next to this the customer is at the center, and everything is geared towards providing sustainable solutions. To effectively serve (future) clients in the Benelux, the organization is seeking a Sales Director who will focus on the Benelux region.
The position
As the Sales Director Benelux, you will oversee an external consultant and report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of the group. Depending on your place of residence, you will either work from a home office or from the office in Heinsberg (Germany). The office in Germany has around 200 employees (warehouse, E-commerce, sales, Academy) and this is also the location for the CCO. You will be part of the overall European sales organization, which consists of approximately 200 sales employees and Customer Service and 60 colleagues working in E-commerce, managed by local Sales management (15 fte). You will work closely together with corporate function to analyze and build strategies for specific segments in your market. Its planned to build up a small sales team depending on the strategy and the success. The sale director should be managing this team.
Tasks & responsibilities
Main goal of the position
As Sales Director, you will be responsible for acquiring new clients and distributors as well as managing and expanding existing customers and distributors in the Benelux region.
This concerns a strategic key position where entrepreneurship and leadership are prerequisites for successful job performance. While the organization already has some major Dutch clients, filling this position requires a 'green field approach'. It is crucial to meticulously map the market to devise the most efficient and effective strategy. In what ways can Dantherm become successful in the Benelux? You will be required to analyze, plan, DO and review. Accomplish sales objectives and to implement a comprehensive sales plan which will help the company meet their ambitious goals in the Benelux.
The organization offers a comprehensive and diverse range of products across various markets. Initially your focus will be on Construction and Water Damage Restoration. You will have direct contact with customers, resellers and distributors. Your role involves starting, building and expanding these relationships. In addition to acquiring new business, you are responsible for managing existing relationships.
You must be adept at selling the added value and possibilities of Dantherm and serve as a conversant professional across various disciplines with your prospects. You are able to translate the customer need into appropriate comprehensive solutions, taking into account (technical) content, planning, budget and delivery terms. You will convince them of Dantherm’ s qualities and inform them about the organization's capabilities. This involves selling existing products, but often also includes custom projects where close collaboration with the customer occurs in major developments. Where you lack knowledge yourself, you ensure that the customer is well-informed by involving the right people in these sometimes lengthy sales processes.
As a Sales Director you are a communicator, adept at navigating a global organization in a changing environment with its associated dynamics. The market is rapidly evolving, presenting opportunities to further expand market position and proposition. With a clear perspective and vision of both the internal organization and external market developments, you are capable of making commercial contributions to the continued growth of both the Benelux organization and Dantherm as a whole.
Candidate profile
We are looking for a self-starting, hands-on candidate with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in a commercially accountable role (btb). You have a commercial or (technical) business education at least at Bachelor level. Extensive experience and a proven track record in a similar industry, namely construction related industry. You are familiar with direct sales, rental market, resellers and distributors. You are result- and client oriented, solution-focused and accustomed to operating in an international and technical environment. You are communicatively strong, a true network builder, and know how to present the organization and yourself at all levels. You have influence, are steadfast, and someone who can rally support. You are proficient in both Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing; knowledge of French is a plus. Your base is in Heinsberg, Germany, where working from home is possible.
