The Rotterdam office, located on the south bank of the Nieuwe Maas river, offers a splendid view over the port and city, and hosts a team of 30 employees.

The position

As Sales Director Calcined Coke you will review the business plan, including corresponding strategy, to manage and grow Oxbow’s market share of calcined petroleum coke to both industrial and anode grade customers in Europe and the Middle East. You will focus on the development of a sustainable book and manage European sales and distribution. You will report to the VP Sales Calcined Coke in Houston, Texas. 

Tasks & responsibilities

You are responsible for the sales of products produced at the calcining terminal in Ghent. With regards to logistics, you will contract relevant parties to ensure you meet deliveries to your customers. In addition to the commercial and logistics activities, you are in charge of ensuring that the deliveries meet the customer quality specifications.

Candidate profile

You have the (dry) bulk commodity markets figured out. You understand commodity flows and supply chain characteristics and feel very comfortable in a commercial role. Developing business, expanding your network, and connecting people gives you energy. You take the lead in market analysis and the development of value propositions. You are a loyal and result oriented candidate that shows flexibility, and you are an easy-going team player. 

  • University degree
  • Track record in sales & business development
  • Experience and knowledge of energy markets and (dry) bulk commodities including the corresponding supply chains is a knock-out. Trading experience is considered a plus
  • Analytically strong, commercially driven and organisational sensitive
  • Entrepreneur, proactive, empathic, energetic, ambitious, strategically strong and ability to focus in a fast-moving environment
