The position

• Working in a dedicated sales team, the sales manager handles the day-to-day spot freight inquiries and liaise with operations department for operational/technical input as the need arises
• Manage the client relationships
• Negotiate freight and contract details and present firm offers to clients
• Stay in regular phone contact with clients and  visits clients as the need arises
• Responsible for a proper hand-over of the signed contract to the operations department
• Responsible for smooth working relationship between Jumbo group and the commercial agents
• Stay up to date with the latest spot market developments and competitor positions

Candidate profile

• HBO thinking and working level
• At least 5 years experience in a similar job
• General knowledge of the project shipping industry
• Good knowledge about charter parties/booking notes
• Sound knowledge of generally accepted BIMCO shipping contracts
• Great listening and communication skills in Dutch/English
