For our client, a global provider of business hardware and software systems, we are looking for a

Technology Consulting Sales Director

An exciting, high-profile opportunity exists to lead the Technology Consulting Sales team in the Benelux, responsible for the Technology Consulting sales organization and the overall Benelux sales budget.

Reporting to the Benelux Technology Consulting Director, the Sales Director role can be split into 3 main areas:

1. Managing an experienced team of 8 sales people and responsible for delivering the Benelux Technology Sales Budget across all 3 business sectors;
2. Engaging with customers at a senior level on significant, cross line of business transformational deals;
3. Establishing and maintaining relationships with senior Company personnel in other lines of business, principally License and Hardware sales, adding incremental value to their business;

A high calibre individual is sought to cover the breadth of responsibility summarized above.

Managing the sales team will involve setting the sales strategy for each Financial Year, delivering the Benelux sales budget and recruiting/developing sales professionals capable of selling transformational deals with our major customers.  Ensuring new business growth each year by selling transformational solutions as well as managing existing installed base accounts is vital to the success of the consulting sales organization.

Customer engagement will involve acting as an escalation point during sales cycles, and establishing key customer relationships in some of our larger accounts.

Internal relationship management with other lines of business will involve driving cross line of business sales planning, positioning Consulting as a critical element in the success of other lines of business key accounts.
This is an exciting time to lead the Technology Consulting Sales organization, positioning Consulting as a key component in customers investing in the Companies stack. We are experiencing significant growth and expanding our successful team.

Responsibilities: 

  • Strong sales management ability, defining the sales strategy, leading and influencing the planning, sales execution, sales representative performance and capability
  • Proactive identification, qualification and maximisation of consulting opportunities within the sales team
  • Responsible for the Benelux Technology Sales budget, managing this across all 3 business sectors within the company.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the other internal lines of business
  • Developing leading Consulting value propositions, jointly with other lines of business, ensuring that Consulting have a positive impact on license and hardware sales
  • Acting as an ambassador for Consulting to clients 
  • Working closely with Consulting Delivery Management team, ensuring joint financial planning and reporting and delivery resource planning/development
  • Ensuring the generation, communication and delivery of the necessary sales documentation i.e. account plans, close plans and qualification plans
  • Developing and managing the sales process for consulting sales, including forecasting, pipeline and opportunity management
  • Coaching and mentoring the experienced sales team
  • Monitoring the performance of the sales team against targets and objectives
  • Acting as a point of escalation and resolutions for unresolved client issues 
  • Pro-actively updating industry and product knowledge 
  • Contributing to the development of Companies Value Propositions
  • Working with designated partner organisations in specific sectors and products
  • Building a team to deliver highest quality sales representation of Consulting department

Experience: 

  • Proven sales success of sales management in a services/solutions/consulting environment in multi million euro deals 
  • Experience in a consulting company, or the consulting arm of a major outsource operator
  • Good understanding of contracting principles for successful, profitable consulting delivery 
  • Strong understanding of Technology Consulting, understanding and background of implementing Technology Software like Database, Middleware, E20, IDM/Security, BI/Data Warehousing .
  • Experience of driving company or business unit wide change program
  • Proven ability to successfully manage P&L services organization in the SI industry
  • Proven ability to operate in a networked environment(matrix-model, multiple reporting/interaction-lines)  
  • Proven new business development, sales management and people management skills.
  • Perseverant, ‘can-do’ attitude (i.e. seeking multiple alternatives to ‘get the job done’ when the initial approach doesn’t succeed)
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Market, Budgeting, and financial planning experience.
  • Effective in communication
  • Strong business acumen and leadership skills
  • Language skills: English and Dutch (spoken and written), French would also be useful.
