Founded in 2010, Synaffix is a biotech company with a clinical-stage platform technology that enables best-in-class antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), bispecific antibodies and other therapeutics under a technology out-licensing business model. Aimed at enabling innovative medicines for patients in areas of high unmet medical need, they forged a growing number of collaborations with top-tier biotech/pharma companies by enabling best-in-class therapeutic candidates for their pipelines.

The position

Due to this rapid growth, we are looking for an Alliance Manager to fulfil a critical and exciting role to ensure that all collaborations established under the technology out-licensing business model of Synaffix are nurtured well to deliver their full potential. Translated into responsibilities and tasks, this entails: Governance: Overseeing the governance of the partnership agreements and managing contractual obligations (including implementing and supporting committees; setting meeting agendas and ensuring preparedness for meetings; supporting formulation of and agreeing on clear objectives; facilitating decision-making and subsequent implementation of agreed actions). Progress monitoring: Tracking and ensuring efficient progress towards agreed goals. Communications and relationships: Strong focus on increasing alignment, mutual understanding, and trust between collaboration participants (including how the company as a whole is perceived by the partner, and how the partnership is perceived by people within Synaffix). Cultivate relationships that support cementing the performance of collaborations and managing of associated internal and external communications. Strategic value & risk management: Identifying the important value drivers and key risks, ensuring those involved do not lose focus on strategic aspects, leading efforts to mitigate risks and accelerate value creation. Change management: Anticipating upcoming changes in project stages or collaboration participants, managing transitions smoothly, and serving as the partnership’s memory, as well as facilitating complex discussions with the partner to map a way forward when unanticipated situations or corporate decisions within either party trigger the need for change.

Candidate profile

Being the ideal candidate for this exciting position, you will recognise yourself in the below:

• Academic degree with a life science, communications, business or legal/IP focus required;
• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the life sciences field;
• Demonstrated experience with project management and attention to details;
• Affinity for business, legal, IP & financial matters;
• Strong analytical skills;
• Exceptional people skills;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required whereas fluency in; Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese or Korean would be an added benefit;
• As the role is based in the Netherlands (Oss/Amsterdam) frequent presence on-site is essential.
