The company’s European Distribution Center is located in Etten Leur, The Netherlands and started their activities in 1995. The European DC consists of 25 employees. The EDC is responsible for all productdeliveries (ca. 100.000/year) to salesorganisations and clients in the European countries and India. 
 
De functie 
This highly visible, global role represents a challenging opportunity to lead the European logistics activity for a $1B S&P 500 global life sciences company. The person in this position will participate in aligning the distribution network, monitor operational progress and ensure having the “right product in the right place at the right time”. This role is critical to the European marketplace & and is uniquely situated in the Supply Chain requiring a high level of collaboration both upstream (sales; customer service; logistics) and downstream (demand planning; procurement; production). The General Manager European DC will also be responsible for ensuring that all quality and performance goals are consistently met, that budgets are on track, and that Custom Service is at the highest level.  
  
De eisen 

• Graduate in Business / Logistics / Transportation / Planning; 7 years + business experience with successful track record.
• Prefer experience that demonstrates successful progression of responsibilities in transportation, packaging, logistics and distribution management.
• Knowledge of geography for use in logistics and transportation decision-making.
• Solid Financial knowledge, with prior P&L responsibility.
• Excellent logic, judgment & decision making skills.
• Strong analytics, tolerance for ambiguity, tough and resilient in face of challenges.
• Strong leadership skills with excellent communication skills – ability to operate at all levels within the organization.
• Goal driven with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment under minimal supervision, includes a high attention to detail and follow through skills
• Willing to challenge status quo and drive change.
• High level of motivation and bias towards action required.
• System savvy, knowledge of SAP will be considered a plus, along with ability to embrace technology as an enabler.
• Experience with Six Sigma concepts/applications considered a plus.
• Fluent in English and Dutch, both verbally and written.
