The organisation addresses unmet needs and untapped markets in clinical diagnostics and life sciences R&D with products and services based on a innovative technology. The organisation is currently working on a new product line. The company is expecting very steep growth for a number of years.

Functie-omschrijving

The COO will be a sparring partner for the CEO. He/she has end-responsibility for the timely and cost efficient delivery of the company’s high value products. The COO structures all internal and external processes, leading to efficiency and reliability in meeting customer demands and customer service. By making excellent use of people management the organisation will be able to further professionalize the teams and internal processes. In order to properly guide the expected growth of the company the COO must ensure that the company structure and processes are continuously geared to and prepared for further growth and development of the organization.

The culture of the company asks for a strong personality and energetic people manager who is able to coach and communicate with natural authority in a 'scientific' environment. The candidate sets goals, creates and implements a clear vision and direction. And is able to realize vision and direction with the help of a highly motivated team. An individual who is dedicated, professional and resourceful; who is able to work in a very international environment.

The requirements are:

• MSc/MBA level by training or experience and able to work with well-educated people;
• Minimum of 10 years relevant working experience in production or supply chain management of technology products, of which several years in a small rapidly growing organization;
• Demonstrable results in change management;
• Affinity with medical applications, preferably knowledge of the regulatory environment;
• Preferably relevant experience in the medical device industry;
• Strong analytical skills;
• Customer oriented and result driven;
• Constantly looking for process and quality improvements;
• Fluent in English and preferably Dutch. Other languages and international experience are a plus.
