The position
To ensure that the assigned Owner Furnished Equipment Package is safely managed, designed, fabricated, installed, tested and transported to site and meets the specified requirements.
The Package Manager reports directly to the Engineering Manager. While working on specific projects, he/she will also report to the respective Project Manager.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Conduct all activities and tasks in accordance with the corporate objectives
- Familiarise with and comply to Allseas’ corporate management system (CMS)
- Interfaces between engineering discipline and project procurement & construction management, vendors, (fabrication) subcontractors, and the Technical Department for own packages
- Close-out of engineering issues and technical, design, and site queries raised by engineering discipline, vendors, fabricators, and QC inspectors
- Close-out of QHSE issues
- Involvement of engineering discipline for vendors / subcontractors evaluation
- Review of DRL and as-built information as provided by vendors / fabricators for own packages (involve other discipline as applicable)
- Inclusion of lessons learned in the Lessons Learnt register (for own package)
- To verify actual progress on physical work and document deliverables against planning as per contract issued
- To verify the percentage status of completion
- To prepare regular progress reports as required
- To compile required info and documentation of deliverables
- To report the above to relevant parties
- Liaison with all classification matters
- Support and actively participate in the continuous improvement of the CMS within the scope of the / your job activities
- Understand and support the implementation of the corporate policies and requirements of CMS within the / your department
- Promote a safe and healthy working environment for all employees and contractors working within all companies premises
- Submit personal timesheets into the RTR/(Web)Solo system for approval on a weekly basis
- Ensure all personal documentation is up-to-date and valid, such as passport, seaman's booklet, medical certificate and offshore survival certificate
Job-specific tasks
- Pursue timely completion of engineering work for own packages in accordance with the main contract requirements (incl. responsibility matrices)
- Identify and timely communicate issues, changes / deviations from original bid, and recommended solutions for own packages
- Monitor detailed design and engineering for own package
- Compile technical input for procurement and subcontract packages and communicate with supply chain group
- Review technical content of vendor / subcontract tenders and draft contracts for own packages
- Maintain engineering action lists and interface register for own packages
- Review vendor / subcontractor correspondence
- Review vendor / (fabrication) subcontractor qualification, verification, inspection, and testing plans (in conjunction with QC Coordinator and Engineering discipline)
- Discuss technical requirements and quality issues with vendors and (fabrication) subcontractors, involve the designer as applicable
- Perform vendor / subcontractor visits, include the engineering discipline as required
- Attend key testing / inspection / construction / installation activities in conjunction with QC Coordinator
- To check availability, status, completion and correctness of required goods, services and documents
- To check and verify actual progress with subcontractors
- To check quantities of required goods or services
- To check delivery / completion dates of required goods or services
- To check all deliverables including documentation
- To identify and report deviations from the specified requirements (in conjunction with the QC Coordinator)
- To prepare a reporting of progress actuals for in house use
- To expedite in accordance with the purchase order / contract requirements
- Initiate technical constructability / install-ability reviews related to own packages
- Recommend vendors / fabrication subcontractors for own packages (part of technical bid review)
- Approve technical / design queries and interface requests that can be solved within defined authority.
Candidate profile
- BSc in civil / mechanical engineering, ship building or offshore technology
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience within innovation or technical department or experience within offshore engineering / construction companies in relevant positions
