Organisation

The organisation is the integrated business unit of two companies established in the Netherlands and Asia. The French mother company that holds operating companies in more than 40 countries in Europe, United States of America and Asia holds on a worldwide scale an outstanding position in vegetable seed breeding.

Position

The research director takes care of an integrated approach of breeding and technology challenges and is responsible for the results of the various crop teams (140 fte). That implies conceiving plans and objectives derived from the total business plan for all crop groups involved. Also the research director will have immediate impact on the technological and financial results by having control on processes, organisation structure, budgets and international co-operation. Furthermore he or she will participate in internal and external scientific task forces and committees on an international scale. As a member of the management board the research director will have an important contribution to the future development of the company.

Profile

The profile of the research director refers to an education at an academic level in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or comparable. Experience in vegetable seed breeding or other relevant technology. He or she is a communicator with developed skills as to people management, organisation, finance/ budgeting and IT-tools. English speaking and preferably one other modern language. Willingness to travel frequently.
