Systems Engineer (interim)

The position

Translating product requirements (HW, FW, SW) into a detailed system and chip & system architectural and functional specification for hardware design and embedded software development, support field trials and production processes;
Supports the design and implementation of the next product; Participating in design reviews as well as in verification and validation plans reviews;
Taking part in system debug and problem resolution; Supporting the integration and software development.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Being the key contact person for system and technology discussions;
• Exploring, researching and remaining up to speed with relevant industry and technology trends and standards.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced technology leader in a multidisciplinary program in designing & developing new phones. This person will be a key contributor and systems expert for all functional teams and taking part in the realization of the project. He/she will ensure that the product(s) are aligned with the latest technologies and meet the standards of the industry in many aspects. People without experience with manufacturing mobile phones don't have to respond.

Requirements 

• BSc or MSc degree in Electrical/Computer engineering;
• Preferably, you are a English and Dutch speaker.
• 7+ years of proven hands on experience in system design/ architecture;
• from concept to a new product in the mobile world;
• Experienced in board/ system design and integration;
• Preferably, you are experienced in RF;
• Preferably, you possess Qualcomm chipset know how;
• Preferably, you have experience in working with ODM’s in Asia and are familiar with tier 1 vendors;
• Preferably, you have experience in defining SW requirements and accompanying design teams as well as experience in embedded software.

The offer

• The contract vorm is an Interim Assignment
• The length of the assignment is 8 months with renewal option
• The hours a week are 24
• The start date is 1 September 2018
• The language is English
